Hi Guys,

I'm Danny, I'll put it out there first that I am indeed joining from the dark side in the former shape of a Honda Civic FN2 Championship White Edition. I won't go too much into this, however I will say that I never thought that I could get so emotionally attached to a car!

I've always had a soft spot for the VW diesels, and my new car has been in the family for ten years. So when my mum and step dad moved on to another car to add to the fleet, I was given first refusal on their little Bora 1.9 TDI (130)

It's a fantastic little car, one that I have admired since before I could legally drive and I am already enjoying the benefits of the increased miles per gallon compared to my former high revving VTEC engine.

I currently have no plans for this car, other than to have it fully detailed by myself to rejuvenate that 16 year old paint work along with two new front wings which have begun to rust (I believe this is foam on the inside of the wings that causes this?). The interior will also be getting a full shampoo, and I hope that once all completed, the car will look similar to how it did when she first left the factory!

Everything else will be getting kept the same and completely standard and I'm really happy with this as a replacement for the little civic which although i'm finding it difficult mentally to sell on, it is now my mortgage deposit. All good things must indeed come to an end.

Look forward to getting to know some of you and having a good nose around the forum!

Danny

Welcome to SVAG Danny.
The Bora looks clean and yes, the foam inside the wings is one of the reasons they rust.
It holds water like a sponge so the inside of the wings are always wet.

The plastic arch liners vibrate more on the diesels also which rubs the paint off the inside.

Your civic looks like a cracker too, I like them in white with white wheels.

Thanks Rico, appreciated mate!
The arches are on my list so hopefully I'll get round to them sooner rather than later!

Thanks! I'm sure going to miss it when it's gone, but I've now got a great VW diesel so I can't complain! :)

Welcome Danny, I left the dark side about 10 years ago..... still have a wee soft spot, Teg DC5 is a purchase I will make one day.

The bora looks decent for 16 year old, hard to believe they are actually that old now
