Hard to believe it's 15 years since the mk4 anni came out and 10 from the edition 30, but it is. I'm not sure how well this'll sell given that it's only a few hundred quid less than the R, but as it's an edition it'll likely hold onto its value better than any other Golf.

You like? http://www.autocar.co.uk/car-news/new-c ... edition-40

I do but I'd take the R.

I think I actually prefer the styling of the E40 over the R. And that interior is very nice!

I agree with rico, i would have that in a heartbeat over the R. Interior is stunning, and it doesn't have those rank R wheels!!

Seats and wheels are defo an improvement but both are optional extras. I'd go with the R because no matter what anyone says about modern difs etc. Fwd is not the answer on higher powered cars and I'd imagine that'll map to over 300bhp. Yeah it just about copes but would you want a 30k plus 300bhp hatchback that just about copes (in the dry)? Sitting here now it's easy for me to say yes but if I had the money to spend on a performance car, I'd likely be looking elsewhere.

To tell the honest truth, It'd be hard for me to resist the focus RS if I had to buy new at that kind of cash. But given a choice, I'd go looking for a used car at the same kind of money.
