I noticed I didn't have a engine management light on the dash so

disconnected the battery then unplugged clocks .. put it all back together....

Now immobiliser cuts engine off with both keys. :wtf: .. cant start or drive. :headbang: :headbang: ...

needing someone that can help please...

car is in bonnyrigg near dalkeith ......... :bigthumbs:

What was the reason behind disconnecting battery and the clocks in the first place? Did you not plug it in to see for faults and to check the actual EML status (Incase it was on but been covered up) ?

Octavias have a known issue with the twisted pair wire running from the immo reader to the clocks, could be that your MK4 is experiencing a similar issue. Have a google, I believe a replacement wire from Vw is not expensive.

I disconnected the clocks because there isn't a light for the engine management. I was making sure no one took bulb out...

You can easily check EML status with EOBD in the future ;)

You really need to get it on VCDS to see what the logged faults are!
